More info about this product

The Catster Sportster conversion was really intensive to enable us to produce a totally new bobber style. We christened it "the French Flower" as it reminded us of the elegance of a Parisian coffee house where you sit between flowers and columns sipping your morning coffee.

The customer came to us with some very precise ideas in her mind which over many discussions we developed into a technical solution. Our own wide range of Sportster extra parts were not enough for this project, which meant lots of special manufacturing & handcrafted parts. The wish was for a long, slim bike with a swinging rear fender. Wide Glide forks or a wide tire swing arm weren't required. So we crafted a longer swing arm in the original width with a 150 tire in it.

To achieve the Bobber style it was absolutely necessary to swap out the oil tank for an oil barrel which of course is nowhere to be found for the Sportster. Furthermore the battery also sits in the rear frame area. So we made a oil barrel and re-located the battery in a new frame under the swing arm. This is damped by shorter shock absorbers which complement the fork lowering kit which was also fitted.

Elegant slim lines combined with a strong fork tree were produced by one of our suppliers with a special 220mm wide and raked Bob Style tree with modified spacers and bushes. We kept the 19" standard wheel in the forks and covered it with a Tribal Fender, one of the few off the shelf parts we fitted.

The Rear Fender was a totally different story. This was specially constructed from a blank and a Shark nose tail light was integrated into it. Side struts give the fender strength and secure it to the swing arm. The Sportster fender struts were removed and Micro Bullet indicators fitted to special mountings.

Schrammwerk is responsible for the paintwork, executed in beige with a floral design that gives the Sportster that feminine touch.

To ensure a comfortable ride we constructed an Old School sprung saddle which sits on hand crafted mountings. One of the main goals of the project was an absolutely clean look, which means such things as the ignition switch, ignition coils, etc. are in the way, but they can't be eliminated. So we manufactured new tank mountings, relocated the ignition coil in a special pocket in the tank & swapped the HD ignition switch for a contactless M-Lock ignition switch. Cables were routed inside the handlebars and the bulky Sportster speedo was replaced by a Motoscope Mini Speedo.
Finished, or so you'd think, but a custom bike is never totally finished. No sooner was it back on the road then we got a request to mount a Zero Cool exhaust system. A wish which we will naturally fulfill.
